Although it may be tempting to overhaul our unhealthy habits overnight (particularly if we're preoccupied with fighting the flab fast!), one of the main mistakes that many dieters make is changing too much too soon, and doing too much too soon - a combination that regularly results in them dedicating every ounce of energy to drastic dietary changes that resemble unrealistic rules and restriction, and an excessive exercise regime that pushes them to participate in a form of fitness (often chronic cardio!) that fails to complement their current capabilities (think instantly embarking on an endurance based exercise regime when we struggle to sustain the stamina to climb a set of stairs!), both of which fail to create the sustainable lifestyle changes that are paramount for promoting long-term weight loss and maintenance.
